Road Surface Condition
The synoptic display board “Road Surface Condition” is installed at the exit of a military unit where there is a high rotation of personnel from various parts of the country. At the top, the board displays the time synchronized from the internet. Below it, information about the road surface condition, visibility, and a remarks field is shown. The remarks field can contain important information such as upcoming events in the unit. A special application allows for the definition of a list of messages in each field, and the messages are changed using an infrared remote control. This allows the gatekeeper to freely change the messages while having a real-time view of what is displayed on the board. The board is equipped with a photoresistor that increases the brightness during the day and decreases it at night to avoid blinding drivers and pedestrians and to not disturb soldiers sleeping in the barracks. The board is powered by 230V AC.
